Behind the canvas

Hey there, it's Hitha here

I've spent the last 4.5+ years building at the intersection of data and design. My curiosity and appreciation for great design are what drew me to this field. Lately, I've been working with AI startups to turn emerging tech into human experiences.

When I'm not in Figma, you can find me sipping coffee by the window with a good book or playing with my dog. I'm an avid reader, a dog lover, and an amateur vlogger

FAQs

Got questions? I've got answers.

What does your design process look like?

My process is iterative, collaborative, and tailored to the specific needs of the task. I start by syncing with PMs, Sales, and Customer Support teams to gather deep context and project requirements before diving into the work.

From there, I move through a rigorous cycle of competitive research, UX interviews, and strategy. I often use Claude Code for rapid wireframing and logic-building, refine designs based on stakeholder feedback, and prepare high-fidelity handoffs.

The work doesn't end at handoff; post-development, I perform a design quality check followed by a second round of testing. I dive into user testing and session recordings to get full clarity on how the product is performing and where we can iterate further.

Hourly or monthly: which one should I pick?

Hourly works best for short, focused work: a UX audit, a design review, strategy discussions, or mentoring your in-house designers.

Monthly is for ongoing work. You get 40 hours a month, and I work as an extension of your team, with bi-weekly standups, research, frontend QA, and documentation included.

Do you also build the product?

I'm design-only. I embed with your team and work closely with your engineers so what ships matches the design, including frontend QA before release.

Can you mentor our in-house designers?

Definitely. With over 5 years of experience, I enjoy sharing my process and helping designers navigate complex "0→1" logic, while setting high-fidelity standards and building scalable design systems that help the whole team move faster.

How do we get started?

Book a call. We'll talk through what you're building and where you need help, then pick the engagement that fits.
